Smart Sell ("the app") is a shop-billing tool for small retailers. This page explains what information the app handles, how it's stored, and who it's shared with.
To run your shop, the app keeps records you enter yourself:
| Data | Why |
|---|---|
| Shop name, address, phone | Shown on printed/shared receipts |
| Product list, prices, stock counts | Billing and inventory tracking |
| Sales history | Receipts and sales reports |
| Customer name, phone number | Due (credit) ledger per customer |
| Customer photo (optional) | Helps you recognize the customer in the due list — you choose whether to add one |
| Due/payment records | Track what a customer owes and what they've paid back |
All of this is entered by you, the shop owner — the app does not collect data about your customers from any outside source.
By default, everything above is stored only on your phone, in the app's local storage. It is not sent anywhere unless you turn on cloud backup.
If you sign in with your Google account, the app uploads a backup copy of your shop data (the items in the table above) to Google Firebase, tied to your Google account. This is used only to:
This backup is not shared with other users, not used for advertising, and not sold to any third party. Your Google account is used solely to identify which backup belongs to you — the app does not read your email, contacts, or other Google data beyond your basic account identifier.
The app asks for camera access for two features, both of which you choose to use:
Used only to connect to a thermal receipt printer you pair yourself. The app does not scan for or connect to any other Bluetooth device.
Smart Sell is a business tool intended for shop owners and staff, not for children, and is not directed at children.
